Newcomer Competition

Newcomers at this year's British Dog Grooming Championship have the chance to take part in a very exciting and exclusive event, judged by Colin Taylor and Julie Harris.

The day will be split into two parts:

Have a first go at grooming in a competitive environment!

You will compete with just one dog and choose to enter one of the following four classes: scissor, clip & scissors, handstrip and comb attachment

Julie and Colin will then judge each class, before the awards ceremony takes place at lunchtime, where the 2017 Newcomer of the Year is determined.

All newcomer competitors have the chance to take part in an exclusive afternoon workshop and feedback session, where  you can pick up hints and tips from Julie and Colin on how to improve your groom. This is a fantastic learning opportunity.

A competitor programme for the day is available to download.

Less than 18 months grooming experience. Can have competed before, but not been placed first in the newcomer class of another competition
