Pet Industry Federation attended APGAW Conference.

PIF attended a Conference on Dogs in Society on November 25 2015 in London, an which included many MPs such as George Eustice, Kerry McCarthy, Rebecca Pow, Rob Flello, Angela Smith and Baroness Parminter;veterinary and other industry professionals, such as Dr John Bradshaw, Patricia Colville, Mike Radford OBE, Dr Sarah McCune, Mark Berry and Rob Quest (City of London Corporation) spoke, and many animal welfare associations, such as the RSPCA.

The main topics covered included the review of the animal welfare licensing system;a look into the policy and laws surrounding dogs; what resources are available to enforce new legislation; dangerous dog attacks and finally the illegal importation of puppies.

It is vitally important for PIF to be present at these conferences to represent our members duringthis crucial time of change for animal and pet licensing. In addition, it is important to be aware of any emerging issues, especially as we have just entered a primary authority scheme with the City of London Corporation on the issue of pet shop licensing.
