City & Guilds 7863 Dog Grooming Diploma

If you are looking to continue your studies within dog grooming, then this 
qualification is aimed at you. It covers a range of topics such as health and IMG 5080b 800x571
safety, legislation, customer service, preparing, styling and finishing a dog,
health checking, first aid, common diseases and disorders and handling a dog
in a dog grooming environment.This will allow you to gain the practical skills
and knowledge to ensure that you are fully prepared to work as a Professional
Dog Groomer as either self-employed, working for a business or franchise,and
be either based in a salon or a mobile unit.

A list of Accredited Grooming Training Centres is available where you can
enquire about taking this qualification. Please contact the training centres
individually to find out about course availability, start date, course fees etc..

The externally set practical assessment contains a number of tasks including
styling dogs with a range ofcoat types and demonstrating first aid. Please note
it is a prerequisite that you must have completed the Level 2 City & Guilds
Certificate for Dog Grooming Assistants before starting the 7863.

Assessment: A written exam which covers the knowledge and understanding
within the qualification and a practical assignment which covers health checks,
first aid and grooming of dogs with different coat types and for different requirements.

Guided Learning Hours: 300
Once this qualification has been successfully completed, groomers can
progress onto the PIF Higher Diploma
