The Pet Care Trade Association is a national membership organisation for pet care businesses. We currently have around 1,550 members, overwhelmingly microbusinesses and small and medium enterprises that include pet shops, groomers, kennels, catteries, manufacturers, wholesalers, professional services and colleges.
The Association works on behalf of its members to raise the profile of their professionalism and commitment to the pet care sector, by offering a range of qualifications to help them further their career development and by providing information as pet care leaflets to the public through its members. It provides a quality assurance of businesses in the pet care sector: all members agree to adhere to our charters, representing best practice for the different sectors of the pet trade on joining the PCTA.
Our members have access to a range of benefits, including services, products, advice and information that help them to develop their business. Specific benefits range from discounts on education and training qualifications and events, plus access to a host of regular publications, to a free legal helpline and animal welfare insurance, to name but a few.
