The Pet Care Awards Return

The Pet Care Trust is delighted to announce that following the success of the inaugural Pet Industry Awards in 2009, the 2010 awards ceremony will take place at the Marriott Forest of Arden Hotel and Country Club on Sunday 19 September during Glee Petindex (19-21 September, NEC Birmingham). Once more, the endeavour and dedication of outstanding individuals and businesses in the pet industry will be celebrated at this glitzy, unmissable event.

The Trust is now calling for nominations. Exceptional pet retailers, manufacturers, grooming businesses, pet specialist services and kennels and catteries can put forward themselves – or nominate a customer or a supplier – in the following categories:

  • Retailer of the Year
  • Supplier of the Year (includes manufacturers, distributors and wholesalers)
  • Grooming Business of the Year
  • Animal Boarding Establishment of the Year
  • Pet Specialist Service of the Year
  • Employee of the Year
  • Service Innovation of 2010
  • Team of the Year
  • Best Customer Initiative of 2010

The new Employee of the Year Award is designed to be completely inclusive: any worker within the pet sector who shows outstanding dedication can be nominated, whatever business they are in.

“Last year’s awards were a resounding success. The number of nominations we received really brought home the commitment and enthusiasm of those who work in our sector” said Janet Nunn, Chief Executive of the Pet Care Trust. She continued “for this reason we are casting the net wider this year and look forward to celebrating the achievements of an even greater range of businesses reflecting the diversity in our sector. So don’t delay. Log onto www.petcare.org.uk for full details of how to enter”.

The awards are presented in association with PBW News, providing a guarantee of excellent publicity for the shortlisted nominees and the final winners, as well as other sponsors (to be announced shortly).

Businesses are invited to submit entries for all award categories, with the exception of the Petindex New Product Awards (to be judged during Petindex) and the Lifetime Achievement Award, which will be decided by the Pet Care Trust Boards of Directors.  Experienced industry professionals form the judging panels for the other categories.
