The Pet Care Trust is delighted to announce that the Pet Industry Awards 2010 will take place on Sunday 19 September at the Marriott Forest of Arden Hotel & Country Club, Birmingham.

Celebrating the crème de la crème in the industry, the Pet Industry Awards 2010 are your chance to shout about your achievements.  More than that, the Award itself and all the free publicity will bring your excellence to the notice of your customers.  And you’re guaranteed to have a lot of fun on the night!

Short-listed companies have thousands of pounds worth of promotion in the pet trade press, as well as nearly a 50% discount on tickets to our gala Awards evening, celebrating the best.  In addition, if you win a category, you’ll take home a trophy and a framed certificate to display in your business for all to see.  To publicise your success, we’ll place photographs, announcements and articles in trade media, with PIA partners, PBW News and on the Trust’s website.

• LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD 2010 - RUSSELL TAYLOR

  This award is made in recognition of Russell Taylor's 38 years working in and for the pet industry. Russell's first 15 years in the industry was spent with Anglia Canners whose pet food activities led him to become a director of the Pet Food Manufacturers' Association for four years. His move to Armitage Pet Care led to his involvement with the Pet Trade & Industry Association, setting upm a rented office and Chief Executive post in 1989 and then buying the current offices on the outskirts of Bedford.

•  From that time on, Russell has remained at the heart of the UK trade body as it morphed into the Pet Care Trust in 1995 and sold Petindex to Emap, amongst other milestones. Russell served for 10 years on the Trust's board during the 1990's, returning for a further spell that culminated in his being elected  chairperson, a position he held from 2004-07.
