An exciting new category has been announced for the 2011 Pet Industry Awards. Sponsored by the Pet Care Trust, the Public Vote – Favourite Pet Care Specialist, offers members of the public the chance to nominate their favourite pet specialist. It’s free of charge to enter, and any pet specialist can be put forward. Businesses can even canvass their customers to vote for them. The individual business or outlet with the most votes will receive their award at the black tie Awards event in front of hundreds of industry peers.
Another highlight of the awards evening is the Lifetime Achievement Award. Historically this award winner has been chosen by the PCTA Board, but this year pet specialists themselves will have the chance to tell us who deserves this prestigious accolade. It could be someone who has consistently made great contributions to the industry over the years, or is an unsung hero for years of hard work and dedication. Who deserves to be feted by their peers in the pet sector? The Pet Care Trade Association is also calling for entries to the following categories:
• Retailer of the Year (sponsored by Beaphar)
• Supplier of the Year • Grooming Business of the Year (sponsored by HIA International)
• Animal Boarding Establishment of the Year
• Employee of the Year
• Team of the Year
• Pet Specialist Service of the Year
‘After the hot competition of last year’s awards, we are excited to see who is prepared to step up to the mark this year,’ said Janet Nunn, Chief Executive of the Pet Care Trade Association. ‘Are you a cut above the rest? If you think your business deserves to lift the gleaming trophy, log onto www.petcare.org.uk to find out how to enter.’
Entry deadlines are: Lifetime Achievement Award, 9am Friday 20th May; all other entries, including the public vote, 9am Monday 27th June.
Once again, the Awards are presented in association with PBW News, guaranteeing excellent publicity for the shortlisted entrants and final winners, and we are delighted to announce that Burgess Pet Care are sponsoring the pre-dinner drinks.
Now in its third year, the Pet Industry Awards Dinner has become the key fixture in the pet industry calendar. This year’s black tie do is taking place in the prestigious Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel on Tuesday 20th September. Press enquiries:
