This is a qualification designed for people coming into the industry and who have little or no prior knowledge or experience of grooming. It can be achieved as a stand-alone qualification for students or staff wishing to gain an accredited certificate, or as a progression route to higher level City & Guilds grooming qualifications. Students must be at least 16 years of age at the time of registration and will have 3 years to complete the qualification.

All units are completed whilst undergoing training at a PIF school and demonstrated by portfolio evidence, whilst the theory is assessed by an online multiple choice test taken under examination conditions.
